The Jackson State University Chapter of ACS offers the opportunity for students with chemical science background to become better acquainted and secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association. We also work to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before scientific audiences, foster a professional spirit among the members, instill a professional pride in the chemical sciences, and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist or biologist. Our Chapter advocates science awareness to the general public and create an awareness of science to the local community.

 

We wish to- or something along this line:

 

1.  increase chemistry awareness with the general public

2.  host a chemistry outing such as bowling, paintballing, or social event

3.  educate members about chemistry careers, resume building, and summer internship opportunities
